Leisure in Tarragona

Parks and gardens

For a relaxing afternoon, to read a book, to go for a stroll, to do sport, to enjoy:

  • Parc Central de Tarragona
  • Camp de Mart
  • Plaça Imperial Tarraco
  • Passeig de les Palmeres
  • Passeig Marítim
  • Port del Serrallo
  • Archaeological walk around the city walls (entrance subject to opening times)

The golden Mediterranean beaches and the beautiful natural landscapes, such as the wild reserve of Gaià, are another of the many attractions that you can find in the city.

Tarragona offers you the chance to practice all types of water sports. The Reial Club Nàutic has a large marina and the Club de Vela Platja Llarga is a place where you can practice light sailing sports.

Platja del Miracle is a beach that occupies the whole waterfront of the city and Platja de l’Arrabassada, 3 miles north of the city, is an ideal place to go running.

Tarragona characterizes itself for taking leisure to the streets, with many areas that have small bars with terraces, such as Plaça del Fòrum and the upper part of the city, with a jovial and relaxing atmosphere.

In the lower part, there is an area with musical bars and a hefty nightlife programme all weekends at places like Sala Zero. Also, there’s a leisure area by the port, with different musical atmosphere for all tastes.
